Our Table // Smartie Cookies

Welcome to our table; where there is always good food, and even greater company! This is where I will share with you my family's favourite recipes and meals.

Today, I am sharing with you my all-time favourite, go-to cookie recipe.
It makes supersoft, thick, chewy and most importantly, DELICIOUS cookies. I typically always double my cookie recipes and today was no different -- fresh, home-baked treats don't last long around our home, plus they are perfect for packing in lunches.

The recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of either M&M's, Smarties or chocolate chips but today I used half Smarties and half chocolate chips and it was p e r f e c t i o n!!

Dough all mixed! Do you see the chocolate chips and smarties?!

I used wax paper on the cookie sheets as my baking sheets are VERY old and do not cook my goodies properly or lift the cookies off easily when baked.
If I was using a newer/non-stick pan I would simply lightly spray with cooking oil
Happy kids helping me bake!

Smartie Cookies

1 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups M&M's, Smarties or chocolate chips

Blend margarine and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add the rest of the ingredients (except Smarties) and blend well. Stir in Smarties. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet. If you have left over candies, you could decorate tops with remaining candies. Bake for 10 minutes at 375° F.
